Living Alone

I think I still have a long way to go with this independence training.

Earlier today, I was happily buying cereal and milk from the convenience store, and wanted some Cocoa Frosties just now. After washing my only cup/mug (made of plastic btw) I proceeded to open and pour out 2 satchets of cereal, when I suddenly realised:

1) I didn't have a spoon.
2) Everyone's asleep at 2am in the morning.
3) I was really hungry.
4) Come to think of it, I didn't have a fork, a bowl, fruit knife, or even a pair of chopsticks.

Well done Gaston, just, well done.

  5. I'm not sure really, in Shanghai life goes on, good restaurants are still filled, peak hour cabs are hard to find, but my friend tells me in some areas there are no shoppers on weekedays.

I don't know how you're gonna be interpreting that, because on one hand, no shoppers = no money, but maybe unemployment isn't that bad in SH, and people are just working on weekdays. I have heard that retrenchment is happening as we speak, but if you choose a lower standard of living, you can get by in SH with very little...

Starbucks at Raffles City SH is always packed though, some UBCs (their local starbucks copy) are so popular I cannot get a table sometimes, and these places charge more expensive prices than back home.
